A dental crown adds strength to a natural tooth that has been damaged by decay or trauma and protects it from future deterioration.
Crowns are also used to hold dental bridges in place. They have the added benefit of ensuring you keep your natural teeth for as long as possible.
We offer patients ‘crowns in a day’ with our impressive CEREC technology. This is a computer-assisted manufacturing technique which allows us to build your crown in just 1 visit. It can be fitted straight away, saving you time and reducing the need to visit us again and again.
If your tooth has been damaged and you require a crown, we will first remove the damaged section of the enamel and then start the process of building your crown. Once it is ready, the crown will be permanently affixed to your natural tooth.
Crowns can be made from metal or from ceramic. The latter is recommended for patients who want to achieve a natural cosmetic result, as the crown blends into the mouth and is completely invisible to others.
